The Avon Newcomers Club is a non-profit social organization whose purpose is to welcome newcomers to our beautiful town, to provide programs and social activities of interest to the membership, foster new friendships and to encourage community involvement.

Our next Social Event will be Couples Dinner at Buon Appetito on Friday, Jan 29th. 50 Albany Turnpike (Route 44). $50 per person (including dinner, wine, soft drinks, tax and tip)

Our next Newcomers Couples Cocktails will be on Saturday, February 6th at 7 p.m. Kelly and Bob Miley will be hosting at their house at 197 Northington Drive. Dress is casual. Remember, this is "stress-free" for the host house so please bring whatever you would like to drink as well as an appetizer or dessert to share with the crowd.

Newcomers Couples Cocktails Chairpersons
Membership
Membership is open to all residents who have lived in Avon less than three years, or who have had a recent change in circumstances, such as leaving the work force, sending the kids off to school, having more children, or retirement.
Annual membership dues are $40.00. Membership in Avon Newcomers allows you to attend our frequent social events, participate in our active interest groups and attend our periodic meetings and luncheons. Interest Groups
These groups are the heart and soul of our organization and provide a great way to meet new people, socialize, explore the area; and, most importantly, have fun! Some of the groups include Movie Nights, ladies Night Out, Men's Poker, Book Clubs, Playgroup, Bunco, Scrapbooking, Bridge, Adventures in Dining and much more...click here to read more about our Interest Groups. Suggestions for additional interest groups are always welcome. Chairing or Co-Chairing an interest group is a great way to become involved! **You do not need to attend general meetings in order to participate in an interest group.
General Meetings
General Meetings are held periodically during the year from September through May. Meetings begin with coffee and refreshments, sometimes followed by a program presented by local experts on topics of general interest. These meetings are a great way to come check out the group and meet some of our other members. On-site babysitting is available for a nominal fee. Check our website for upcoming meetings. Everyone is welcome!
Socials
Social events for members are planned several times throughout the year. Our members have enjoyed such events as wine tastings, comedy/theater nights, private restaurant dinners, karaoke, and sports related outings in the past. These popular events are a great way to socialize with other members.

Advertising is available in our monthly newsletter and on our website to interested businesses. You do not need to be a member to advertise with us. Your ad will reach over 100 members. Anyone interested in placing an ad may contact Beth Zweibel.

Avon Newcomer Notepads
Just what everyone needs! A notepad and post-its with the Newcomer logo on it. You could keep these by the phone for messages, use it for a grocery list, things to do, marking articles or recipes, etc. You can get a package of one notepad and one set of post-its for $4.
